There's no place like ... no, wait, there are several actually. Just recently I've been to the Anhalter Bahnhof, a place where I lived for about two years some time ago. And while I can still say that the building I lived in is one of the ugliest to be found in today's Berlin, my memories of the time in the tiny 30m² apartment are overwhelmingly positive.
University was something I liked back then, money was not an issue, I could do what I want, I had healthy relationships ... and the surroundings of that place had a very positive aura for a reason. Do I want to go back to that time? Maybe. I do not miss the ugly facade, the "dirty back alley" feeling, the constant fluctuation (including leaving your old stuff in front of the door) and the trash supermarket.
